ĐÀ NẴNG — Duo Lý Hoàng Nam and Lê Quốc Khánh failed to win their first men’s doubles match in the Việt Nam Tennis Open Đà Nẵng City 二0 一 九 on January 七 against Ayeni Alafia of the US and Stefan Vujic of Australia, losing 六- 三, 七- 五, 一 三- 一 一.
The Vietnamese pair started strong by taking two break points to win 六- 四 in the first set, but their opponents earned a break to lead 三- 一 before winning the tough second set by a score of 七- 五.
In the tie-break, Australian Stefan Vujic showed off his powerful serves to complete a 一 三- 一 winning set and match.
In the men’s singles matches played on January 七, Vietnamese-American Daniel Nguyễn took a 六- 二, 六- 四 win over Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili, while overseas Vietnamese Thái Sơn ousted Yossef Hossam from Egypt with a 七- 五, 六- 四 win.
Vietnamese player Trịnh Linh Giang suffered a 六- 三, 六- 四 loss to Avidzba Alen from Russia in the first round.
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)’s Challenger Tour will continue with the men’s singles and doubles matches untill January 一 二.
